International travellers – some of them flying to Alicante – were caught up in an enormous queue snaking out of the doors of Birmingham airport on Monday.
Passengers are currently facing long waits to get to the departures area as the airport revamps its security search zone on the first floor.
Information boards claim the refit is not adding to the queuing time for security.
