Eight people in Spain are being investigated for the illegal ‘trafficking’ of 5,700 tonnes of plastic waste.
The operation has been carried out by the Guardia Civil with the aid of Europol.
“It was launched due to the alarming increase in recent years of the illegal trafficking of this waste,” said a Guardia Civil spokesman.
