FIVE people were killed and 16 were injured when a bus covering the Cudillero-Avilés-Gijón route crashed into the pillar of a bridge under construction in Avilés at 13.40 on Monday.
The crash is believe to be the result of the driver suffering some kind of sickness that caused him to pass out and lose control of the bus. The driver is among those seriously injured and has required urgent surgery.
