Energy company Iberdrola is on trial at the High Court in Madrid for price fixing.
Iberdrola Generación is accused of artificially increasing tariffs back in 2013.
According to state news agency EFE, it is the first time that an electricity company has faced court proceedings for alleged manipulation of electricity costs.
Iberdrola denies artificially inflating the cost of electricity.
