RADICAL anti-establishment group CUP yesterday (Thursday) announced it would no longer support JxC separatist regional president Quim Torra.
Torra requires the support of his own party (led by former regional president Carles Puigdemont), left-wing nationalists ERC and the CUP in order to have overall majority in the regional parliament.
In yesterday’s regional government meeting, all CUP members failed to turn up, and opposition parties joined force to approve a motion to demand snap regional elections or a vote-of-no-confidence – that could have the same outcome.
