SPAIN’S premier cycling race, the Vuelta a España, began with a time trial in the French city of Nîmes last Sunday and will arrive in Granada and Málaga next week. At the end of the three-week-long event, in Madrid, competitors will have fought their way through 21 stages covering 3,000 kilometres.
Shortly before this year’s event began, organisers announced that the 2018 Vuelta will begin on August 25 with a time trial in the city of Málaga. The event will start a week later than normal next year to coincide with Málaga’s annual fair.
