TWENTY-FOUR hours earlier than expected, the ministry of health has announced that the whole Valencia Region (Alicante, Valencia and Castellón provinces) will enter phase two of the lockdown exit process from Monday June 1. This means beaches can be opened to the general public with restrictions, larger stores can now open, bars and restaurants can begin using some of their indoor tables and social gatherings can include up to 15 people (only 10 in phase one).
The ministry usually announces which regions have been granted their requests on Friday afternoon, but this afternoon (Thursday), health minister Salvador Illa announced that Valencia along with Málaga and Granada provinces in Andalucía, certain areas of Cataluña, Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León will enter the new phase.
