Alicante’s ‘bonfire night’ (nit del foc) brought the city’s San Juan celebrations to a spectacular end on Monday night.
A total of 188 effigies were burned during the traditional event which saw a record number of visitors attending – a massive 1.5 million over the fiesta period, which brought in €300 million.
