Former Valencia city mayoress Rita Barberá is in the eye of the storm on a national scale, as the noose of the ‘Operación Taula’ corruption probe tightens around her.
Prosecutors are busy searching for a way to take Sra Barberá in for questioning, which is proving difficult due to her position as Senator in the Spanish parliament.
Calls are being made within the PP for her to resign, which she has so far refused to do as she maintains she is innocent – despite her entire municipal executive being arrested and charged in the scandal involving rigged contracts.
