TORREMOLINOS town hall last week unveiled a new IBI property tax subsidy scheme to replace the previous subsidies that were cancelled late last year after the town hall determined they did not meet legal criteria.
Under the new scheme the subsidies are means-tested, rather than offered to all registered (‘empadronado’) residents as before.
They range from 25% to 75%, up to a maximum €400 reduction on the tax, with the level of discount determined by household income.
