An experienced and professional animal carer was attacked and killed by a tiger at Terra Natura in Benidorm on Saturday.
The 37-year-old local resident had worked at the park for eight years.
The woman entered the enclosure to carry out regular cleaning and maintenance duties. She was then accosted by one of the tigers, which suddenly lunged at her and killed her on the spot.
The park has issued a statement expressing their condolences and an investigation is under way to see if the park’s strict safety protocols were followed.
