A NATIONWIDE crackdown on businesses showing televised football matches without the proper subscription was carried out by National Police this week.
Officers swooped simultaneously while Champions League matches were taking place on Tuesday night, targeting establishments in response to a complaint from the Spanish top division, La Liga.
A spokesman for the force told Costa Blanca News that 73 of these raids took place in Benidorm, of which in ‘at least 30’ cases officers seized signal decoders and cited the owners to make statements.
