PATIENTS have to wait longer in Málaga than in any other province of Andalucía to undergo non-urgent surgical procedures, according to data from the regional health service (SAS). However, the waiting times remain well below the maximum allowed under the regional government’s guidelines.
Based on data as of June 30, for surgeries that have a maximum allowable waiting time of 120 days, in Málaga patients wait an average of 51 days, two days less than at the same time last year but still the longest of any province, and five days longer than the region-wide average of 46 days.
