PABLO Ráez, a 20-year-old Marbella man who turned his battle against leukaemia into a hugely successful campaign to boost bone marrow donations, was awarded Málaga’s Provincial Gold Medal last week, two months after his death from the disease.
“Pablo symbolised better than anyone what we want Málaga to be: brave and with a fighting spirit, happy, optimistic, filled with solidarity, altruistic and strong,” said provincial government president Elías Bendodo presenting the award to Pablo’s father during the official Málaga Province Day event last Wednesday, which happened to be Pablo’s birthday.
