The lack of response from Orihuela council to requests for information, complaints and suggestions from the public has been successfully taken to court by the association of residents and traders, Movimiento Ciudadano La Zenia II.
Elche’s court for cases against public authorities (contencioso administrativo) has ruled that the local authority has violated the residents’ and associations’ basic right to information, and ordered the council to pay up to €500 for the trial costs.
