More surveillance flights due to ‘extreme drought’

A new ‘super helicopter’ has been acquired by the Valencia government in its bid to prevent forest fires.

The department for justice and the interior reminded that the countryside and mountainous areas in the region are suffering from the effects of extreme drought.

A spokesman explained that the H901 helicopter ‘has great capacity to travel long distances and maintain extended flying hours’.
