Alicante airport sources say the announcement the Monarch is ceasing trading from today (Monday) has caused no major problems at Alicante-Elche airport where three scheduled flights – Luton, Birmingham and Manchester – were cancelled. The same sources say customers had been warned yesterday(Sunday) and that other airlines will be carrying passengers back to the UK in coordination with the British Civil Aviation Authority.
