MARBELLA’S local police on Monday launched a holiday drink-driving crackdown that will continue to January 7.

Throughout the three-week period the police will carry out 12 alcohol checkpoints, said officials last week, though the exact locations and times have not been announced. Each of the checkpoints, manned by six officers and a police official, will conduct tests on some 25 drivers. Drug tests may be carried out alongside the alcohol tests.
