A €2 million project to protect Los Alcázares from being flooded again was handed over to the regional authorities by the mayor Mario Pérez Cervera on Tuesday.
It consists of a network of huge pipelines in the so-called ground zero area, which gets completely inundated with run-off water from La Maraña watercourse when it rains heavily.
