GIBRALTAR’S stunning new mountain-top Skywalk could not have had a more spectacular inauguration than last week’s visit by the most famous Skywalker of them all.
Actor Mark Hamill, who plays the Star Wars character, wielded a ‘lightsaber’ to cut the ceremonial red ribbon on the attraction, which is perched at the top of the Rock, some 340 metres above sea level.
The vertigo-producing walkway, built of glass and steel on the foundations of an existing WWII base structure, provides 360-degree views “spanning three countries and two continents”, said the Gibraltar government announcing the launch of the attraction.
