Very hot weather is due to affect large swathes of Spain in the coming days.
The whole of Alicante province is on alert for high temperatures tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday.
State weather agency AEMET has placed the interior of the province on orange alert tomorrow as temperatures could reach 40c.
And the same is forecast for Thursday when the mercury is due to hit 40c again in some inland areas of Alicante.
