GIBRALTAR – which voted an overwhelming 96% against Brexit – has found itself at the centre of the first major row in the UK’s ‘divorce’ from the EU.
The EU’s proposal last week that Spain – which has a long-standing dispute with the UK over the sovereignty of the Rock – may be given effective veto power over whether any new EU-UK trade deal would apply to Gibraltar, was met with a flurry of strong reactions from all sides, including references to the Falklands war.
