THE Spanish government says that last weekend’s disarmament by the Basque separatist group ETA was a media operation “to hide their defeat.”
In a statement, prime minister Mariano Rajoy warned that members of the group cannot expect any preferential treatment, “much less, impunity from their crimes.”
On Saturday morning, dozens of French security forces began work in the south of the country to locate eight caches of arms, based on information supplied by ETA.
