ESTEPONA’S Foreigners’ Department has been recognised by the European programme Participation Matters, for its work to promote the participation of foreign residents in local affairs, said town hall officials last week.
The Participation Matters scheme is aimed at fostering the inclusion and participation of foreign-resident EU citizens in the civic and political life of the member state where they are living. The Estepona department was invited to participate in an event in Madrid to share its work and experience with representatives of other towns and associations in Spain, Italy and Austria.
