The EU is poised to take action over soaring energy costs as the wholesale price of electricity hits one of the highest levels of the year in Spain today (Tuesday) with consumers paying an average of €0.5889 per kilowatt hour (kWh).
European Commission (EC) president Ursula von der Leyen admitted yesterday that the current electricity market model is not working and will have to be replaced.
