The proposal by deputy PM Yolanda Díaz to set price caps on staple foods to combat rocketing inflation has met with opposition from the agro-food industry.
Last week Sra Díaz said the measure should be applied to up to 30 items such as milk, bread, eggs and fruit and she would meet with sector representatives to thrash out a deal.
Meetings between all parties are set to continue.
