A row has blown up in Torrevieja over the town’s costly rubbish collection and street cleaning service.
The Socialist party (PSOE) has accused the council of failing to take promised action to fine contractor Acciona over deficiencies in a service that costs the taxpayer €25 million a year.
However, the town hall has hit back and said fines announced in September are in the pipeline.
