The regional government’s battle to continue reducing waiting lists for operations was dealt a temporary blow in December due to Christmas.
The holidays taken by medics during the festive period meant that the improvements recorded month on month in 2022 hit a wall at the end of the year – and the average wait for a non-emergency operations remained at 88 days.
