A spate of fires in different parts of Alicante province caused by embers placed in rubbish containers has led town halls to issue a warning to residents.
Hot ashes dumped in a wheelie-bin led to a fire in a pine wood next to a Benissa urbanisation on Tuesday, but swift emergency service action meant nobody had to be evacuated.
