An on-the-run Belgian who was about to fly to Bristol has been arrested at Alicante-Elche airport.
The National Police reported on New Year’s Eve that the fugitive is wanted for smuggling large quantities of cocaine into Belgium from South America.
A force spokesman explained that border police officers who were checking passports noticed that the Belgian’s name was on a list provided by the European security forces.
