While conditions in Jávea and Benitachell are allowing fire fighters to contain the huge forest fire that has so far forced the evacuation of over 1,400 residents – another blaze in Bolulla (near Callosa D’En Sarría) is out of control.
The Bolulla blaze had been contained yesterday (Monday) morning, but was reignited in another area in the afternoon. With tanker planes unable to fly at night, the blaze spread to Callosa D’Ensarría as is threating the popular Algar waterfalls area.
Eleven tanker planes and helicopter are now (Tuesday midday) concentrating on the area, which cannot be accessed by road easily.
