AFTER the big meals and booze of Christmas many of us make New Year’s resolutions to lose weight and eat more healthily – but we should beware of so-called miracle diets, according to Marc GarcÃa, a nutritionist from Valencia’s Manises hospital.
Sr GarcÃa noted that they respond to a desire to lose weight quickly and are sometimes very restrictive and can compromise our health.
Some of these are now well known, such as the Atkins, the Dukan or the zone diet, while this year nutritional experts are warning about a new fad called the no-sugar diet.
