REPRESENTATIVES from over thirty countries around the world, including dancers, performers, musicians and even an American-football team, met in Fuengirola’s Parque de España last Thursday, April 21, to introduce the programme for the town’s 22nd Feria Internacional de los Pueblos, which starts today, April 28 at the local feria ground and continues until Monday, May 2.
Visitors to Fuengirola this weekend can travel from India to Egypt via Jamaica, Venezuela and Norway, with stands from 33 countries and Spanish regions putting on displays of local culture and entertainment, with traditional food and drink items also available. Countries making their debut in this year’s edition include Italy, Senegal, Chile and Paraguay.
The fair’s stands will be open 1pm until 4am from today, Thursday April 28 through to Monday, May 2. The official opening ceremony will take place tonight at the town’s Palacio de la Paz at 8.30pm, and the folklore parade, which will see the fair’s participating countries march through Fuengirola’s streets, will start at 11am on Saturday, April 30 in Plaza de España.
