ALHAURÍN de la Torre this week carried out a fogging campaign against tiger mosquitoes at local parks and green zones, and will be publishing brochures with tips for the public on how to help prevent the spread of the pest.
It is the second year the town hall has taken the steps to combat the tiger mosquito.
The work, contracted out to a specialist company, includes spraying with low environmental-impact products as well as directly treating water in decorative fountains and ponds with a product that acts against the insect’s larvae, said officials.
