DRIVERS who are from outside Valencia but are fined whilst visiting the city will nwo have to pay the fines.
Until now, those from afar fined whilst on vacation would ignore the fines, as they would not be claimed due to a legal loophole.
This week, mayor Joan Ribó announced that police have already started following up fines issued after coming to an agreement with regional government representatives.
“It is important because from now on anyone who commits an infraction will be on equal terms whether they live in Valencia or not.
“Until now, those who did not live in Valencia enjoyed a situation whereby they could commit a traffic violation and the fine could not be collected.”, he explained.
