TAVERNES beach had to be shut to bathers from Monday afternoon after several Portuguese man o’ war were spotted on the shore.
Lifeguards on the La Safor town’s urban beach were alerted at around 15.00 and acted swiftly, managing to catch one of the creatures and remove it from the water.
