OVER 100 tonnes of meat crawling with bugs and covered in mould has been confiscated from a factory in Alzira and the business shut down.
Health inspectors say the firm ‘recycled’ meat – mostly ham – which had gone off, re-packaging it with new use-by dates.
Much of it was stored in the open air and was coated in grease and even rat and mouse droppings.
