GANDIA has been picked in the top 10 ‘alternative’ holiday destinations on the travel site Trivago, and will feature in a special supplement due to come out this summer.
German users were asked to recommend lesser-known holiday venues around the world so that these could be featured as a different option from the Balearic and Canary Islands and the Costa del Sol. These areas are statistically the most-searched destinations among Germans seeking a summer break, and the new supplement is designed to help them broaden their horizons.
Trivago, a travel search engine which has web portals in 55 countries and gets over 120 million hits a month, is one of many websites Gandia tourist authorities are closely linked to as part of its drive to get bodies on beaches.
