A PRE-PAID card for use in mainstream shops has been launched for Gandía’s poorest residents in a bid to remove the stigma of having to turn to charity for food parcels.
Cáritas, a Catholic Church-run organisation which provides basic groceries and help with utility bills for those living in poverty throughout Spain has branches in almost every town, and runs economat stores where registered users, or one-off users in need, are given non-perishables.
