THE largest drugs laboratory uncovered in Spain for many years was stormed by security forces in Serra (Valencia) this week.
Guardia Civil officers discovered the lab located next to a country house on the outskirts of the inland town.
According to officers, the installations received shipments of cocaine mixed with coal, with scientists then separating the drug and preparing it for distribution.
The infrastructure was equipped to produce 300 kilos of cocaine a month, which makes it the most important of its kind in Spain due to its infrastructure and production capacity.
More than 130 kilos of the drug and 230,000 euros in cash were seized at the site, and 12 people were arrested.
