FLOODED streets on Tavernes beach can at last be prevented now the council has won its case against the landowners.
Plots on the seafront road and around the north-west of the beach residential hub in La Safor’s northernmost town were ‘borrowed’ from their owners for underground pipes to be fitted through, although above ground, nothing would change the land layout significantly.
Residents have been desperate for the guttering and drainage to be built to stop their streets turning into rivers when freak storms cause extremely high tides.
