AT LEAST a dozen holiday homes in Oliva’s Rabdells beach urbanisation were burgled in the early hours of Friday morning, thought to be by the same criminal gang.
Residents on the estate say the properties on the C/ Beniflà and C/ Ador are mostly empty over the winter, meaning the intruders were able to break in and help themselves without worrying about being disturbed.
They smashed windows and broke down doors to be able to take away top-of-the-range TVs and other white and brown goods.
The fact that a large part of the urbanisation is a ghost town for much of the year, especially with numerous new builds repossessed by banks after developers went out of business, means homeowners feel particularly vulnerable to break-ins and other crime.
