TORREMOLINOS for the first time officially presented itself as a gay-friendly destination at last week’s Fitur tourism fair in Madrid, and unveiled a series of events and projects aimed at boosting the town’s appeal for the gay or LGBT market.
During a presentation at the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual) area of the Fitur event, mayor José Ortiz stressed the town’s past role as an early pioneer in the gay-tourism sector and said it aims to recover its position at the forefront of the sector.
In addition to promotional activities to be developed and carried out at national and international level, the town has a number of projects aimed at attracting the LGBT community.
