OWNERS of tourist accommodation in Andalucía have three months in which to register their properties, followed by a year in which to adapt them to the new legal requirements. The regional government last week approved amendments to the 2013 Law of Urban Leases (LAU), which previously excluded seasonal rentals.
The new rules apply to properties on residential land which are rented “habitually and for tourism,” although a number of exemptions apply. These include a rental of two months or more by the same person, a situation which is already covered by the LAU.
