FIVE Barcelona women, dismissed from their jobs as supermarket cashiers in June 2009 for theft, have won a case at the European Court of Human Rights. They had been found guilty of stealing or helping others to steal goods from their employer, but their appeal to Strasbourg for compensation was based on an absence of, “respect for private life.”

Five cashiers found guilty of stealing at the supermarket where they worked have won a case against the CCTV cameras that caught them
