THE EU is set to impose new border controls which could affect British citizens travelling to Europe from a post-Brexit UK. These include an entry-exit system designed to tackle visa overstaying and the European travel information and authorisation procedure based on the US fee-paying system.
In his State of the Union address last Wednesday, European Commission (EC) president Jean-Claude Juncker stated: “We will defend our borders with strict controls on everyone crossing them.”
