RUMOURS of an imminent terrorist attack in Spain, which had been spread through the WhatsApp messaging service, have been rubbished by interior minister Jorge Fernández Díaz.
In the wake of the Brussels attacks last week, the messages claimed that the terror alert had been raised to the maximum level and that people should avoid public transport and large public events.
They also claimed that the risk was highest in Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante and Valencia.
