OVER 120 firefighters and numerous aircraft tackled two fires in Mijas and Benahavís on Sunday and carrying into early this week.
The Benahavís fire, in a forested mountain area near the luxury La Zagaleta urbanisation, started at around 12.30pm. In Mijas, at around 3.30pm a car fire in the Higuerón area spread to the hillside along the A-368 Benálmádena-Mijas Pueblo road, near the A-7 motorway exit and down the hill from the Buena Vista urbanisation.
