THE project to create a new designer outlet mall at Málaga’s Plaza Mayor commercial centre is nearing a start date, with the city’s town planning department currently processing the construction licence application submitted by the developers.
The project, being promoted by Plaza Mayor’s owners in partnership with the British firm McArthurGlen, will see a €30 million investment, with the demolition of the mall’s old nightlife zone and the construction of a new building incorporating that space and stretching to the eastern side of the existing shopping area of the commercial centre.
