Fuengirola’s town hall and the western Costa del Sol Town Hall Association last week signed a new collaboration agreement allowing the town to use treated water to irrigate public green spaces, instead of drinking water. A town hall statement said the move will be a “positive contribution” to the environment, and save money. The collaboration also permits the use of water recycled by treatment plants to clean streets, but this is awaiting regional government authorisation.
